The Loop - Holidays 2008

Animating Charlie Brown

I have gained respect for cartoonists yesterday. The work Charles Schulz did with ‘Peanuts’ was simple and yet something we all have remembered for so long. I had the unique pleasure of drawing ‘Charlie’ and doing a really quick animation for a Christmas teaser. It is called ‘Crush’. I really wish I had much more time on this because animation is tedious and if you don’t have the time necessary to pull off a good one, it can really show. 3D ART

I think 3D art is unique, it usually involves a different sense of balance. In this case type is the main focus, but there is also some really cool photography to lay the artwork on. My challenge is to get a piece done in less than 2 hours. Here is another piece I finished tonight. I took this picture on a small mountain.

3D Art

Tim brings up a valid point to mention; most of these art pieces will start in a vector program like Illustrator to produce outlines, then you bring those into C4D. It will eventually land in Photoshop to produce the ‘flare’. I have also added some other pointless design ‘doodles’ I did yesterday.
